Hi folks, It has been some time since I’ve had a chat with you all. Weather here is terrible with rain and wind. Those of you who know the road to Eonish Lodge it is now like a river with 3ft. of water on it and rising fast. Our homes are safe and for this we are grateful. The strand in front of the bed& breakfast and self catering is completely covered in water. Looking at news reports we realise we are lucky that the flooding does not reach our homes; I can’t imagine how people cope with that situation. The only way in or out is with boat and that is sailing where the road should be. We are the lucky ones really and my hearth goes out to those people that have their homes flooded. Let’s hope we get a change in the weather conditions soon as we do feel like “the island folk”.

We have no guests staying  at this time of year. I enjoy the rest and time with family , it helps me recharge and get ready for next years guests. We look forward to our return visitors and meeting new people in 2010.

  Christoph Feustel and his son Arun 12 years old from Germany had a weeks pike fishing at Eonish Lodge. Arun caught some good sized pike,his biggest was 94cm on the stretch of Lough Oughter in front of Eonish Lodge. Christoph has been to Killeshandra Cavan before but this was Arun’s first time and he has returned home with some great memories of his fishing holiday

Jean Aibegany from France had a good weeks pike fishing on Eonish Lake. Jean fished from the bank and caught pike every day. Jean stayed in Eonish Lodge bed and breakfast with his wife and two friends. Pike returned to the water alive and unharmed.

Michael Granger and friends from Birmingham England have just returned home from a ten day fishing trip to Eonish Lodge bed & breakfast accommodation. Bream and skimmer bream were in good supply and on most days catches were good.

James from Accrington Lancashire enjoyes his fishing holiday and boating on Eonish lake.

Craig Mc Donald and friends from Accrington Lancashire England had a good weeks fishing holiday at Eonish Lodge Killeshandra.   Most of the fish caught were Bream and Skimmer Bream with some Roach and Hybrids. They were all caught on the feeder on the private stretch in front of accommodation.

Gary Taylor and his family had a two week stay in our self catering and experienced the rainy season during that time. The lake level rose by 5ft during the second week. Gary been the dedicated fisherman was on the bank from 6am and weather conditions never seemed to stop him. Gary’s efforts paid off and he had some great catches He had a mixture of bream and roach with the bulk of the catch been bream, (93 bream in total). His weights varied from 14lb to 62lb. His total weight was 347 lb.

Weather conditions have been appalling in recent days resulting in very high water levels.Eonish stretch has risen by 5ft. in last week.  Some anglers who have ventured out report fishing to be quite good.  Good bags of Bream, Roach and Perch are being caught on Eonish, Killykeen, also Trinity and Flynns Pass are fishing quite well. Gary Taylor stayed at Eonish Lodge self-catering and fished Eonish Stretch on most days and had some great fishing.

2/8/08: Aghabane Lake, Killeshandra. 100 lb Bream to 4lb.
3/4/08 & 4/08/08: Bawn Lake, Killeshandra. 60 lb bags of Bream to 5lb on both days.
10/8/08: Killykeen 123 lb of mixed bags mainly hybrids and roach.
10/8/08: Town Lake, Killeshandra 60 lb bags with odd Bream to 4 lb.
