Fishing

Killeshandra, Belturbet, Cavan

Fishing is very good in the general Lough Oughter system with Derries and Trinity giving very good returns.  Ken Irving (Manchester) had 162 fish for 119 lbs in one days fishing on pole at Trinity.  Aughabawn Lough is giving steady returns and some big bream to 7½ lbs showing.

Chris Wolley from Bolton England enjoyed his six days fishing at Eonish Lodge. Chris is an experienced fisherman and has stayed with us for a number of years. Over the six days he caught 180lb Bream and Tench.  I  have to say Chris put a lot of work into his fishing, going out early morning 4am and staying late in the evening. This method of fishing seems to be the way to go and if you have the stamina it does pay off and you will be rewarded with good catches. Weights were Bream to 8lb and Tench to 5lb. Chris is back with us soon again with his fishing companion Jim and we look forward to seeing them both.
